*PROFESSIONAL

The highest membership level IDS offers is reserved for designers who have passed a national certification exam, such as the CQRID, OR certification with another nationally
recognized design association. As with the Affiliate and Associate member
levels, IDS Professionals can use the IDS logo and their corresponding
appellation (IDS Professional) on business cards, stationery, business websites,
in advertisements and all marketing communications. IDS Professionals
distinguish themselves and IDS by demonstrating talent and intense commitment.
Today’s consumer, who is aware of style, ever conscious of value and bombarded
with information, depends on professional guidance in creating comfortable
beautiful homes. The IDS Professional member’s credentials provide customers
with the reassurance that their designer is an expert, someone well equipped to
guide them to the home of their dreams.

• STUDENT
Annual membership dues: $35

Interior Design Society membership can be a great value for young men and women at the beginning of an interior design career. While you are in school, IDS chapter meetings and IDS Message Board, as well as other member communications, provide an important connection to experienced interior designers and others allied to the interior design field.
On the local level, IDS Student Members can learn much by attending IDS chapter meetings. Usually held monthly, IDS chapter meetins provide an opportunity to meet with established designers and to learn outside the classroom. This interaction of new and established designers is a great learning experience for both.
IDS membership gives design students a chance to supplement required course work with real-world knowledge. IDS local chapters provide more than networking; many are active in fund-raising for local and national causes, staging area-wide promotions, organizing education trips and other "hands-on" experience.
